African Violet

Violets, commonly known as African Violets (Saintpaulia, now classified as Streptocarpus sect. Saintpaulia), are compact, flowering houseplants loved for their soft, velvety leaves and continuous blooms. Their delicate flowers come in shades of purple, pink, white, and blue, adding a gentle pop of color to desks, windowsills, and small indoor spaces. These charming plants are a favorite for year-round color and are especially well-suited for beginner plant owners.

Violets thrive in bright, indirect light and prefer well-draining soil designed specifically for African violets. Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, ideally from the bottom to avoid getting water on the leaves, which can cause spotting.
