Ajuga Gaiety

Ajuga ‘Gaiety’ is a low-growing perennial groundcover prized for its attractive variegated foliage and colorful spring blooms. Its small green leaves edged in creamy white create bright contrast throughout the season, while spikes of blue-purple flowers rise above the foliage in spring, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. This spreading variety forms a dense mat, making it an excellent choice for borders, shaded garden beds, pathways, and erosion control on slopes.

With its compact habit and year-round foliage interest, ‘Gaiety’ adds texture and brightness to both shade gardens and mixed landscape plantings.

Maintenance: Plant in partial shade to full shade with moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first 1–2 weeks after planting to establish roots, then maintain moderate moisture, especially during dry periods. Ajuga spreads steadily over time and can be trimmed back if needed to control growth or refresh appearance. Remove spent flower spikes after blooming to keep plantings tidy and encourage healthy foliage growth.
