#3 gallon pot.
Cavatine Andromeda is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub prized for its abundant clusters of delicate, white, bell-shaped flowers that bloom in early spring. Its glossy, deep green foliage provides beautiful year-round color and texture, while its naturally dense, rounded growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, shaded borders, woodland gardens, and smaller landscapes. Reaching approximately 2–3 feet tall and wide, Cavatine offers all the beauty of traditional Andromeda in a more manageable size.
This hardy, low-maintenance flowering shrub thrives in partial shade and prefers acidic, moist, well-draining soil. Its early spring flowers attract pollinators, providing an important source of nectar as the gardening season begins. With its compact form, evergreen foliage, and beautiful spring blooms, Cavatine is an excellent choice for adding year-round structure and seasonal interest to New England landscapes.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a healthy root system, keeping the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect the shallow roots, keeping mulch away from the stems. Fertilize in early spring with a fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants if needed. Minimal pruning is required, but light shaping can be done immediately after flowering. Protect from harsh winter winds and excessive afternoon sun to help prevent leaf damage.
