Apple Trees Macoun

#7 gallon pot.

Macoun Apple Tree - Trees for cross pollination: Honeycrisp, Cortland, & Gala. Height: 12-15 ft, Width: 12-15 ft. Interest: Fruit in mid-October. Macoun apples are a beloved East Coast variety, known for their deep red blush over green skin and sweet, aromatic flavor. Developed in Massachusetts in the 1930s as a cross between McIntosh and Jersey Black, Macoun offers a tender, juicy bite that makes it perfect for fresh snacking and desserts alike. Its balanced sweetness and subtle tartness make it a favorite for families and a classic fall treat.

Maintenance Tip:
Prune annually in late winter while dormant to shape the tree, remove dead or crossing branches, and encourage better fruit production. Thin developing fruit in early summer to improve size and prevent branch stress. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring, maintain consistent watering during dry periods, and monitor for pests and disease throughout the growing season.
