Emerald Petite® Arborvitae is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its dense, vibrant green foliage and naturally narrow, pyramidal growth habit. Similar in appearance to the popular Emerald Green Arborvitae but with a smaller mature size, this variety provides beautiful year-round color and structure without taking up excessive space. Reaching approximately 6–8 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, Emerald Petite® is an excellent choice for smaller privacy screens, foundation plantings, entryways, and evergreen hedges.

This hardy, low-maintenance evergreen thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-draining soil. Its tightly packed, soft, scale-like foliage maintains attractive green color throughout the seasons, making it a great choice for adding vertical interest and natural screening to New England landscapes.

Maintenance: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Continue watering during extended dry periods, especially in late fall before the ground freezes. Apply mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect roots, keeping it away from the trunk. Minimal pruning is required, but light trimming in spring can help maintain its naturally compact shape. Avoid cutting into older, bare wood, as arborvitae may not regrow from these areas.
