#3 gallon pot.
Pugster Amethyst Butterfly Bush (Buddleia) is a compact, dwarf flowering shrub known for its large, fragrant spikes of soft amethyst-purple flowers with tiny yellow-orange centers that attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators from summer into fall. Its dense, rounded growth habit and sturdy stems provide improved winter hardiness compared to many other dwarf varieties. Growing approximately 2 feet tall and wide, it delivers impressive blooms in a small space.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is drought tolerant once established and highly pollinator-friendly. Ideal for garden borders, containers, and smaller sunny landscapes.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly after planting until established, then during prolonged dry periods. Cut back in spring once new growth begins to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms. Deadheading is not necessary, but spent flowers may be removed to maintain a tidy appearance. Avoid pruning in fall.
