#7 gallon pot.
Regina Cherry Tree - Trees for cross polination: Bing, Stella, & Rainier. Height: 15-18ft, Width: 15-18ft. Interest: Fruit in late June/July. Bold and vigorous. Fruit is sweet-tart when picked red; superbly sweet if picked deep purple, when fully ripe. Strong flavor with a good balance of natural sugars and acidity coupled with high “cherry essence”. Blooms late to avoid spring frosts. Crack resistant. Clingstone. Keeps well in proper storage. Introduction from Germany in 1998. Ripens in late June.
Maintenance Tip:
Prune lightly after fruiting (or in late winter for young trees) to maintain structure and remove dead or crowded branches. Water regularly during dry spells, especially while fruit is developing, and fertilize in early spring to support growth. Netting may be needed to protect ripening fruit from birds.
