#3 gallon pot.
Tess of the d'Urbervilles Rose (Rosa 'Ausmove') is a stunning English climbing rose known for its large, deeply cupped, crimson-red flowers filled with layers of velvety petals. Its richly colored blossoms release a pleasant, traditional rose fragrance and appear repeatedly from late spring through fall, creating a romantic display against dark green foliage. Its vigorous yet relatively compact climbing habit makes it an excellent choice for adding vertical color and elegance to garden spaces. Growing approximately 8 feet tall when supported, it offers the beauty of a traditional English rose in a graceful climbing form.
Thriving in full sun and fertile, well-draining soil, it is fragrant, repeat flowering, and attractive to pollinators. Ideal for trellises, arches, fences, garden walls, and cottage-style landscapes.
Maintenance Tip: Water deeply and regularly during establishment, then during extended dry periods. Provide a sturdy trellis or other support and gently tie new canes into place, training longer branches horizontally where possible to encourage additional flowering. In early spring, remove dead or damaged stems and shorten side shoots as needed, preserving healthy main climbing canes. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming, and fertilize with a rose fertilizer in spring and during active growth if needed.
