Columbine ‘Earlybird White’ is a compact, early-blooming perennial prized for its elegant pure white flowers and delicate fern-like foliage. Blooming in spring to early summer, its upward-facing blooms create a bright, airy display that adds softness and classic cottage-garden charm to borders, woodland gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. The clean white flowers pair beautifully with both bold and pastel garden palettes while attracting hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies.
Part of the Earlybird series, this variety is valued for its uniform growth habit, heavy flowering, and extended bloom performance in cooler seasons. Its manageable size also makes it an excellent choice for containers and front-of-border plantings.
Maintenance: Plant in full sun to partial shade with rich, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first 1–2 weeks after planting to establish roots, then maintain moderate moisture throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage additional flowering and maintain a neat appearance. Columbine may self-seed lightly if seed heads are left in place after blooming.
