Euonymous Shrubs Emerald and Gold

Emerald and Gold Euonymus (Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald 'n' Gold') is a colorful, low-growing evergreen shrub known for its glossy emerald-green foliage outlined with bright golden-yellow margins. Its dense, spreading growth habit creates a vibrant carpet of foliage, while the leaves develop beautiful pinkish-red tones during colder months. Growing approximately 1–2 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, it adds cheerful color and year-round interest to garden spaces.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil, it is adaptable to a variety of soil conditions and low maintenance once established. Ideal for low hedges, foundation plantings, borders, and evergreen groundcover.

Maintenance Tip: Water regularly after planting until established, then during extended dry periods. Prune in early spring as needed to maintain shape and control spreading growth. Remove any solid green shoots to maintain its golden variegation, and apply mulch to retain moisture and protect roots.
