Bloomstruck Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) is a beautiful, reblooming deciduous shrub known for its large, rounded flower clusters that bloom in vibrant shades of rose-pink, violet, or purple-blue depending on soil conditions. Part of the Endless Summer collection, it produces flowers on both old and new growth, providing colorful blooms from early summer into fall. Its glossy, dark green foliage, accented by striking reddish-purple stems and attractive burgundy fall tones, adds interest beyond its flowers. Growing approximately 3–4 feet tall and 4–5 feet wide, it creates a lush, rounded appearance in the landscape.
Thriving in morning sun and afternoon shade with moist, well-draining soil, it is a beautiful choice for foundation plantings, mixed borders, cottage gardens, and colorful landscape accents.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment and maintain consistent moisture, especially during summer heat. Avoid heavy pruning, as this variety flowers on both old and new growth. In spring, remove only clearly dead stems once new leaves begin to emerge, and lightly shape after flowering if needed. Apply mulch to protect roots and fertilize with a balanced fertilizer in spring if needed.
