Fire Light Tidbit Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata) is a beautiful dwarf flowering shrub known for its abundant, rounded clusters of creamy white to soft green flowers that gradually transform into vibrant pink and raspberry-red tones as the season progresses. Its naturally compact, dense growth habit and sturdy branches create a colorful display from midsummer into fall. Rich green foliage develops attractive reddish tones in autumn, providing additional seasonal interest. Growing approximately 2–3 feet tall and 3 feet wide, it brings striking color and texture to smaller landscape spaces.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil, it is exceptionally cold hardy, low maintenance, and beginner-friendly. Ideal for foundation plantings, low borders, containers, mass plantings, and colorful garden accents.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly after planting until established, then during prolonged dry periods. Prune lightly in late winter or early spring before new growth begins to maintain its naturally rounded shape and encourage abundant flowering. Remove damaged stems as needed, apply mulch to retain moisture, and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
