#3 gallon pot.
Limelight Prime Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata) is an improved, deciduous flowering shrub known for its large, vibrant lime-green flower clusters that gradually transition to creamy white before developing rich pink and red tones in fall. Blooming earlier than traditional Limelight, it provides an extended season of color while producing stronger stems that hold its abundant flowers upright. Its lush green foliage and naturally dense, upright growth habit create an attractive, well-structured appearance. Growing approximately 4–6 feet tall and 4–5 feet wide, it offers the beauty of Limelight in a slightly more compact form.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-draining soil, it is cold hardy, low maintenance, and beginner-friendly. Ideal for flowering hedges, foundation plantings, mixed borders, specimen plantings, and cut flower gardens.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then deeply during prolonged dry periods. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins to maintain shape and encourage sturdy branches and abundant flowering. Remove damaged stems as needed, apply mulch to retain soil moisture, and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
