#2 gallon pot.
Nana Japanese Garden Juniper (Juniperus procumbens 'Nana') is a compact, spreading evergreen shrub known for its dense, blue-green to medium green, needle-like foliage and gracefully trailing branches. Its naturally low, mounded growth habit creates an attractive, layered appearance, adding beautiful year-round color and texture to the landscape. Growing approximately 6–12 inches tall and 5–6 feet wide, it provides excellent ground coverage while maintaining a neat, structured appearance.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is drought tolerant once established, cold hardy, and low maintenance. Ideal for rock gardens, slopes, foundation plantings, groundcover, and Japanese-inspired landscapes.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then during prolonged dry periods. Prune lightly in early spring if needed to control spreading growth and maintain its naturally mounded shape, avoiding cuts into old wood. Ensure proper drainage to prevent root issues, and apply mulch around newly planted shrubs to retain moisture.
