Juniper Shrubs Wiltonii (Blue Rug)

Wiltonii Blue Rug Juniper (Juniperus horizontalis 'Wiltonii') is a low-growing, spreading evergreen groundcover known for its beautiful, silvery-blue foliage that develops subtle purplish tones during colder months. Its dense, trailing branches form a flat, carpet-like mat that spreads gracefully across the ground or cascades over retaining walls. Growing approximately 4–6 inches tall and 6–8 feet wide, it provides excellent year-round coverage and texture.

Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is exceptionally drought tolerant once established, low maintenance, and ideal for erosion control. Perfect for slopes, rock gardens, retaining walls, groundcover, and sunny landscapes.

Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then during extended dry periods. Trim spreading branches lightly in early spring if needed to control size, avoiding cuts into old wood. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root issues, and keep the planting area free of weeds while the groundcover establishes.
