#3 gallon pot.
Sensation Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Sensation') is a striking, deciduous flowering shrub known for its unique, fragrant, two-toned blooms featuring rich purple petals outlined with crisp white edges. Large, cone-shaped flower clusters appear in mid to late spring, creating a beautiful contrast against its lush green foliage. Its naturally upright, spreading growth habit adds height and traditional charm to the landscape. Growing approximately 8–10 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide, it makes an eye-catching addition to spring gardens.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is cold hardy, fragrant, low maintenance, and highly pollinator-friendly. Ideal for flowering hedges, mixed borders, specimen plantings, and cottage-style gardens.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then during extended dry periods. Prune immediately after flowering to maintain shape and preserve next year's blooms. Remove spent flower clusters and older stems periodically to encourage healthy growth, and fertilize lightly in early spring if needed.
