Lupine Blue Shades

Lupine ‘Blue Shades’ is a classic cottage-garden perennial known for its tall spikes of blue and violet-toned flowers that bring vibrant vertical color to spring and early summer landscapes. Its densely packed blooms rise above lush green foliage, creating a bold architectural look while attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to the garden. The rich blue shades blend beautifully with other sun-loving perennials and provide striking seasonal contrast in mixed borders and pollinator plantings.

Blooming in late spring to early summer, this lupine variety adds texture, height, and natural garden charm while thriving in cooler climates like New England. Its upright flower spikes also make excellent cut flowers for seasonal arrangements.

Maintenance: Plant in full sun to partial sun with rich, well-drained soil and moderate moisture. Water regularly during the first 1–2 weeks after planting to help establish roots, then maintain consistent moisture during active growth and dry periods. Deadhead spent flower spikes to encourage continued blooming and maintain a tidy appearance.
