Maple Trees Armstrong Gold

Armstrong Gold® Maple Tree - Height: 40-45 ft, Width: 12-15 ft. Interest: Brilliant golden-orange fall foliage with a narrow, upright growth habit. Armstrong Gold® Maple is a striking ornamental shade tree known for its slender, columnar form and vibrant autumn color. Its dense, upright branching and attractive green summer foliage create a tall, elegant appearance without taking up excessive space, making it an excellent choice for narrow yards, driveway borders, street plantings, and landscapes where traditional shade trees may grow too wide. As temperatures cool in fall, its leaves transform into beautiful shades of golden yellow and orange, adding a spectacular burst of seasonal color. This fast-growing, cold-hardy maple thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-draining soil, although it adapts to a variety of growing conditions. Water regularly during establishment and during extended dry periods. Minimal pruning is needed beyond removing dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain its naturally upright shape.

Maintenance Tip:
Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead or crossing branches, but avoid heavy pruning during peak sap flow. Water during prolonged dry periods, especially for young trees, and apply mulch around the base to conserve moisture. Fertilize lightly in early spring if growth appears slow.
