Mountain Laurel Shrubs Carousel

#3 gallon pot.

Carousel Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia 'Carousel') is a stunning native evergreen shrub known for its unique, star-shaped flowers featuring rich purplish-red to cinnamon-colored markings surrounded by crisp white edges. Its abundant blooms appear in late spring to early summer, creating a beautiful contrast against glossy, dark green foliage. Growing approximately 5–8 feet tall and wide over time, it provides striking seasonal color and year-round structure.

Thriving in partial shade to full sun and moist, acidic, well-draining soil, it is low maintenance, cold hardy, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for woodland gardens, mixed borders, foundation plantings, and specimen plantings.

Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment and keep soil consistently moist, especially during extended dry periods. Prune lightly immediately after flowering if needed to maintain shape, and remove spent flower clusters to encourage healthy growth. Apply mulch to retain moisture and protect shallow roots, and fertilize with an acid-loving fertilizer in spring if needed.
