#3 gallon pot.
Kaleidoscope Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia 'Kaleidoscope') is a beautiful native evergreen shrub known for its striking, two-toned flowers that emerge from deep raspberry-red buds and open into intricate blooms featuring rich cinnamon-red markings with contrasting white centers and edges. Its glossy, dark green foliage provides attractive year-round color, while its naturally dense, upright growth habit creates a stunning display in late spring to early summer. Growing approximately 4–6 feet tall and wide, it adds bold seasonal interest and structure to the landscape.
Thriving in partial shade to full sun and moist, acidic, well-draining soil, it is low maintenance, cold hardy, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for woodland gardens, foundation plantings, mixed borders, and specimen plantings.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment and keep soil consistently moist, especially during extended dry periods. Prune lightly immediately after flowering if needed to maintain shape, and remove spent flower clusters as desired. Apply mulch to retain soil moisture and protect shallow roots, and fertilize with an acid-loving fertilizer in spring if needed.
