#3 gallon pot.
Chionoides Rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Chionoides') is an elegant evergreen shrub known for its abundant clusters of crisp white flowers accented by delicate yellow-green markings in their centers. Blooming in late spring to early summer, its showy blossoms stand out beautifully against glossy, dark green foliage that provides year-round color and texture. Growing approximately 4–5 feet tall and wide, it develops a dense, rounded growth habit that creates an attractive landscape accent.
Thriving in partial shade and moist, acidic, well-draining soil, it is cold hardy, low maintenance once established, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for foundation plantings, woodland gardens, mixed borders, and mass plantings.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment and keep soil consistently moist, especially during prolonged dry periods. Prune lightly immediately after flowering if needed to maintain shape and avoid removing next year's flower buds. Apply mulch to retain moisture and protect shallow roots, and fertilize with an acid-loving fertilizer in spring if needed.
