#3 gallon pot.
Bali Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Bali') is a beautiful deciduous flowering shrub known for its elegant, semi-double white flowers accented by a striking purple-red center. Blooming from midsummer into early fall, its large, tropical-looking blossoms create a stunning display against lush green foliage when many other shrubs have finished flowering. Its naturally upright, rounded growth habit provides attractive height and structure throughout the growing season. Growing approximately 5–8 feet tall and 4–7 feet wide, it adds long-lasting seasonal color to the landscape.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is heat tolerant, drought tolerant once established, low maintenance, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for flowering hedges, mixed borders, foundation plantings with adequate space, and specimen plantings.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then during extended dry periods. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and encourage vigorous new growth, as flowers develop on new branches. Apply mulch to retain moisture, remove unwanted seedlings if they appear, and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
