#3 gallon pot.
Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Notwoodthree') is a stunning deciduous flowering shrub prized for its large, soft lavender-blue flowers featuring delicate, lacy centers and subtle wine-red markings near the throat. Blooming abundantly from midsummer into early fall, its elegant, semi-double blossoms create a beautiful contrast against dark green foliage. Its graceful, upright branching habit provides a soft, flowing appearance while adding impressive height to the landscape. Growing approximately 8–12 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide, it creates a colorful focal point throughout the summer months.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is heat tolerant, drought tolerant once established, deer resistant, low maintenance, and highly pollinator-friendly, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Ideal for flowering hedges, privacy plantings, mixed borders, and specimen plantings.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly after planting until established, then during prolonged dry periods. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain its natural shape and encourage strong flowering on new growth. Remove damaged or crossing branches as necessary, apply mulch to retain soil moisture, and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
