#3 gallon pot.
Double Knock Out Rose (Rosa 'Radtko') is a hardy, repeat-blooming shrub rose known for its vibrant, cherry-red double flowers that cover the plant from late spring until the first frost. Its richly colored blossoms resemble traditional roses while offering the exceptional disease resistance and easy-care performance of the Knock Out family. Glossy, deep green foliage develops attractive burgundy tones during cooler months, adding seasonal interest beyond its blooms. Growing approximately 3–4 feet tall and wide, it creates a dense, naturally rounded shrub that provides dependable color throughout the growing season.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it is drought tolerant once established, disease resistant, low maintenance, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for flowering hedges, foundation plantings, mixed borders, mass plantings, and colorful landscape accents.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly after planting until established, then deeply during extended dry periods. Prune in early spring to approximately 12–18 inches tall to encourage vigorous new growth and abundant flowering. Deadheading is not necessary for continuous blooms, although faded flowers can be removed for appearance. Apply mulch to retain moisture and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
