Spirea Shrubs Double Play Candy Corn

Double Play® Candy Corn® Spirea is a colorful, compact flowering shrub known for its brilliant foliage that changes color throughout the growing season. New leaves emerge bright candy-apple red in spring before transitioning to vibrant orange and golden yellow, creating a stunning multicolored display. In late spring to early summer, clusters of deep pink to reddish-purple flowers appear, adding even more color and attracting bees and butterflies. Its naturally rounded growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, garden borders, and mass plantings.

Thriving in full sun, Double Play® Candy Corn® is a hardy, low-maintenance shrub that prefers well-draining soil and becomes moderately drought tolerant once established. Reaching approximately 18–24 inches tall and wide, it provides beautiful seasonal color without taking up much space. Its combination of vibrant foliage and cheerful flowers makes it a standout addition to New England landscapes.

Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish healthy roots, then provide additional moisture during extended dry periods.
