Tiarella Cordifola Foam Flower

Tiarella cordifolia, commonly known as Foam Flower, is a charming native woodland perennial prized for its soft, frothy flower spikes and attractive heart-shaped foliage. In spring, delicate clusters of airy white to pale pink blooms rise above the foliage, creating a light, “foamy” appearance that gives the plant its common name. Its lush green leaves often develop bronze or burgundy tones throughout the season, adding long-lasting texture and color to shaded garden spaces.

Foam Flower spreads gently over time, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders, pathways, and naturalized plantings. Its pollinator-friendly blooms attract bees and beneficial insects while its low-growing habit creates a soft, layered look beneath trees and shrubs.

Maintenance: Plant in partial shade & sun with rich, moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first 1–2 weeks after planting to help establish roots, then maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods. Applying mulch can help retain soil moisture and keep roots cool. Remove spent flower stems after blooming to tidy the plant and encourage healthy foliage growth throughout the season.
