Bubbly Wine Weigela (Weigela florida 'Floraclar') is a beautiful, compact deciduous shrub prized for its unique, variegated foliage featuring bright golden-yellow margins surrounding rich green centers. Its colorful leaves contrast beautifully with deep burgundy stems, while delicate, pale orchid-pink, trumpet-shaped flowers appear in late spring, attracting bees and butterflies. Its naturally dense, mounded growth habit provides attractive color and texture throughout the growing season. Growing approximately 1.5–3 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide, it creates a cheerful display without taking up much space.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil, it is low maintenance, deer resistant, and pollinator-friendly. Ideal for foundation plantings, mixed borders, low hedges, containers, and smaller landscapes.

Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment, then during extended dry periods. Prune lightly immediately after flowering if needed to maintain its compact shape, as next year's flower buds develop on older growth. Remove damaged branches as necessary, apply mulch to retain soil moisture, and fertilize lightly in early spring if needed.
