Achillea, or Yarrow, ‘Vintage Violet’ is a compact yarrow variety known for its rich violet-purple flower clusters and soft, fern-like foliage. Blooming from early summer into fall, this long-lasting perennial adds bold color and texture to sunny garden beds, borders, and pollinator plantings. Its flat-topped flower clusters attract butterflies and beneficial pollinators while also making excellent cut or dried flowers.
With its upright, drought-tolerant growth habit and extended bloom time, ‘Vintage Violet’ is a dependable, easy-care perennial that fits beautifully into cottage gardens, naturalized plantings, and low-maintenance landscapes.
Maintenance: Plant in full sun with well-drained soil for best flowering and healthiest growth. Water regularly during the first 1–2 weeks after planting to establish roots, then reduce watering as yarrow becomes highly drought tolerant once established. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering and maintain a tidy appearance. Cut back old growth in late fall or early spring to promote fresh new growth.
