Beech Trees American Beech

#15 gallon pot.

American Beech (Fagus grandifolia) - Height: 50-70 ft, Width: 50-70 ft. Interest: Smooth gray bark with golden bronze fall foliage. American Beech is a stately, long-lived native tree with lush green leaves that turn golden bronze in the fall. Its smooth, gray trunk and wide canopy provide excellent shade and landscape presence. Plant in full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-draining soil. Requires moderate watering during establishment. Minimal pruning is needed, making it a durable and elegant addition to large yards or park-like settings.

Maintenance Tip:
Prune in late winter while dormant to remove dead or crossing branches and maintain structure. Water deeply during dry periods, especially when young, and apply mulch to retain soil moisture. Fertilize in early spring if needed, and avoid excessive disturbance around roots.
