Heritage River Birch Tree - Height: 40-70ft, Width: 40-60ft. Interest: Pink and Tan Curly Bark. 'Heritage' is a fast-growing tree with layers of brown bark peeling back to reveal white inner bark. Chickadees, sparrows, wild turkey, pine siskins, finches and other birds love the seed. Glossy, light green leaves turn yellow in fall and distinctive bark that starts off reddish-pink and fades through cinnamon to a creamy tan-white with age, and which peels in thickly curled strips. Plant in full sun. Tolerates most soil types. Water well the first year after planting to help establish in the landscape. Little pruning is required except to remove dead, diseased or crossing branches.
