#3 gallon pot.
Tuff Stuff Ah-Ha Hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata) is a beautiful, reblooming deciduous shrub known for its stunning lacecap-style flower clusters surrounded by delicate, double, waterlily-like petals in vibrant shades of pink or lavender-blue depending on soil conditions. Its abundant flowers appear from early summer into fall, producing a colorful display throughout the growing season. Its attractive green foliage and naturally dense, rounded growth habit create a lush, elegant appearance even when not in bloom. Growing approximately 2–3 feet tall and wide, it offers remarkable flowering performance in a compact form.
Thriving in morning sun to partial shade and moist, well-draining soil, it is cold hardy, pollinator-friendly, and well suited to smaller landscapes. Ideal for foundation plantings, woodland gardens, mixed borders, containers, and colorful specimen plantings.
Maintenance Tip: Water regularly during establishment and keep soil consistently moist, especially during extended dry periods. Avoid heavy pruning, as this variety flowers on both previous-season branches and new growth. Remove only clearly dead stems in spring and lightly shape after flowering if needed. Apply mulch to retain moisture and protect overwintering flower buds, and fertilize lightly in spring if needed.
