Plum Thundercloud Tree

Thundercloud Plum Tree - Height: 20-25ft, Width: 20-25ft. Bloom Time: Early May. Great summer interest is provided by deep purple foliage on this specimen tree. Small pink flowers line the branches in early May before foliage emerges. Tolerates sandier soils. This Plum should be grown in full sun to bring out the richest color of the leaves. Leaves turn almost green in shade and lose the characteristic purple color. Well-drained soil with an acid pH is preferred but it will grow on slightly alkaline soil.

Maintenance Tip:
Prune in late winter or after flowering to shape and remove dead or crowded branches. Water consistently during dry periods, particularly when establishing, and fertilize in early spring. Monitor for common pests and diseases, and ensure good airflow to keep foliage healthy.
